Sakarya University

Sakarya University School of Engineering and Architecture, which was established in 1970, is the foundation of Sakarya University. The school was converted to Sakarya State Architecture and Engineering Academy in 1971. It provided education as a faculty affiliated to Istanbul Technical University between 1982-1992 and turned into Sakarya University with the Law No. 3837 dated July 3, 1992.

Sakarya University (SAU), which aims to "educate entrepreneurial individuals who add value to humanity and produce universal knowledge, technology and services," currently has fourteen (14) faculties, one (1) college, two (2) vocational schools, six (6) institutes, thirty-two (32) research and application centers and one (1) technocity. The university continues to serve a total of 53,124 students thanks to 1501 academic and 317 administrative staff. In addition to its dynamic and competent academic staff, Sakarya University covers a 200-hectare area with its campus, faculty and administrative buildings, educational buildings, research centers, laboratories, library, and activity areas. Sakarya University Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center has been operating in teaching Turkish to foreigners since 2012. The institution currently has 24 academic staff and 630 students. Until today, Turkish courses have been given to approximately 3000 students. In addition, in accordance with the contract signed with Yunus Emre Institute, A1, A2 and B1 level courses were held in Summer school of Turkish language. Every year between 2013 and 2017, the cultural activities were organized for approximately 40 students coming from abroad. Master trainer certificate programs are also organized in the field of vocational courses at Sakarya TÖMER. Within the framework of this program until today 600 teachers had been trained. Apart from these activities, our institution was one of the organizators of the International Congress of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language which was held between 2015-2018.

Most of the videos to be used in the project will be shot at Sakarya University Distance Education Application and Research Center. This unit has been active since 2005. Sakarya University Distance Education Research and Application Center (UZEM), providing distance education service of on-campus university joint elective courses, pedagogical formation, inservice training of various institutions, certificate programs for needs, presentation of educational materials prepared jointly with external stakeholders and training to external universities. It pioneers multi-faceted studies such as providing educational support. UZEM acts as a mentor to various centers in Turkey.
