The Union of International Democrats e.V. (UID) aims to promote tolerance at the cultural level in line with the idea of international understanding. This goal is pursued through various means, including organizing conferences that focus on promoting German-Turkish relations across social, cultural, economic, and scientific domains. These conferences encompass cultural events such as folk dance performances, concerts, exhibitions, meetings, and congresses. In addition, UID provides opportunities for German-Turkish student exchange programs and supports the integration of Turks and individuals of Turkish origin into Germany, while simultaneously offering avenues to maintain and nurture Turkish culture. The organization also conducts educational activities to raise awareness about the rights of Turks and individuals of Turkish origin living in Germany. By introducing Turkish art, traditions, and culture to Germans and other population groups, UID actively promotes cultural exchange. Furthermore, the organization seeks to foster the process of European unification and collaborates with regional, national, and European social and public institutions to reinforce a sense of shared responsibility for Europe. In this process, it aims to strengthen interaction and participation among Europe’s diverse ethnic populations. UID emphasizes the importance of promoting intercultural and interreligious education and culture, particularly within the European context. The organization also focuses on researching and contributing to social and political developments in Europe, with a particular emphasis on migration and an awareness of democracy and pluralism. UID is dedicated to representing the interests of Turkish immigrants in Europe, addressing their challenges, and promoting their contributions. It further advocates for linguistic and religious diversity in Europe.

In addition to its cultural efforts, UID promotes education and training by organizing courses and seminars, particularly for Turkish and German languages. The organization also provides financial support to talented young individuals. In the field of child and youth welfare, UID engages in activities under Book Eight of the Social Code (SGB VIII), which are designed to promote the individual and social development of young people, reduce disadvantages, and offer guidance to parents and guardians. Moreover, UID is committed to creating and maintaining positive living conditions for young people and their families, contributing to a child- and family-friendly environment.

UID also supports cultural goals, particularly in the promotion and preservation of cultural values rooted in Turkish traditions. The organization facilitates the promotion of Turkish music, literature, and performing and visual arts by organizing cultural events such as conferences, concerts, art exhibitions, and folklore performances.

In the area of science and research, UID promotes scientific studies and research projects in universities, colleges, and other scientific institutions. These projects focus on topics related to German-Turkish or European-Turkish relations, as well as issues concerning migrants in Germany and Europe. UID supports and funds research on these topics, contributing to a deeper understanding of the dynamics at play between these populations.

Furthermore, UID has expertise and experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The organization conducts workshops and conferences to explore AI applications in social, economic, and cultural contexts. It also researches the impact of AI on migration, integration, and cultural exchange. UID is committed to promoting AI literacy among diverse populations, including Turks and individuals of Turkish origin. Additionally, it collaborates with AI experts and institutions on projects and initiatives aimed at fostering intercultural dialogue and understanding.
